Introducing BeaconLink on Oppo Reno 12 Series: Make Calls Without Signal or Data
Oppo has introduced the BeaconLink feature for the first time in Indonesia, available on the Reno 12 Pro 5G and Reno 12 5G models.
BeaconLink allows users to make voice calls with close contacts even without network coverage or internet data. This feature uses a patented communication protocol to enhance Bluetooth transmission, enabling voice calls up to 200 meters.
According to Oppo, as reported on Tuesday (July 23, 2024), users can make voice calls between two Oppo phones that support BeaconLink, ensuring connectivity in emergency situations.
BeaconLink is said to increase Bluetooth BR/EDR hardware efficiency by up to 300%, expanding Bluetooth data transmission range.
Useful for Flights and Remote Locations
This feature is especially useful in various scenarios, such as during flights, travels in remote areas, or large events like concerts and festivals, where network coverage is often limited.
At music festivals, where signal can be sparse, users can make voice calls up to 30 meters with BeaconLink. In basement parking areas, BeaconLink can reach up to 200 meters, and for outdoor enthusiasts in mountainous regions, it can extend up to 120 meters.
