Langgampos.com - Harmony Park Surabaya, also known as Keputih Harmony Park, is a prominent urban green space located in the Keputih area of Sukolilo, Surabaya. What was once a former landfill site, decommissioned in 2000, has been transformed into a lush park under the leadership of Mayor Tri Rismaharini. The revitalization project, initiated in 2011, has turned the area into a thriving green space filled with diverse plants and flowers, making it one of Surabaya's most attractive natural destinations.
As part of Surabaya's urban renewal program, Harmony Park stands out with its bamboo forest spread across approximately 8.6 hectares, divided into three sections: Keputih Bamboo Forest, Harmony Park, and the Keputih Public Space Park. Opened to the public in 2014, the park serves not only as a recreational area but also as a center for environmental conservation and education. Various species of trees and plants are cultivated here, offering a learning space for visitors, especially school children, to understand the importance of environmental preservation.
The park boasts an impressive collection of 70 plant species, including 31 types of shrubs and 38 varieties of trees. The number of species continues to grow, driven by the Surabaya City Government's ambition to make Harmony Park one of the largest flower parks in the world.
